Global Policy and Advocacy Program Associate: Atlas Corps Fellow

Mays is a Global Policy and Advocacy Program Associate at 1,000 Days. In this role Mays supports the organization’s global nutrition advocacy team efforts to mobilize new resources to improve polices and advance the investment in maternal and child nutrition programs worldwide. She is also supporting the International Coalition for advocacy on Nutrition (ICAN) and research and advocacy on women’s empowerment and nutrition.

Prior to 1,000 Days, Mays worked as an advisor fellow for Square Roots where she supported the research and design of a multi-tiered platform designed to directly improve the lives of women, mothers and children globally. Mays also started her private practice where she helped treat and translate the science of nutrition into everyday understandable information abut food. She also worked as a community nutritionist and educator for rural areas in Palestine, raised awareness and delivered programs that promoted maternal and child health.

Mays holds a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Birzeit University, Palestine and has six years of experience in the nonprofit sector including nutrition, health, media, and youth empowerment.
