Denys Symonette Mitchell is the Policy & Advocacy Consultant for 1,000 Days. In this role, she works to advance the organization’s policy platform on Capitol Hill and amplify its’ mission through mass-channel communication and brand building.
She is the Founder and Principal of Symonette Strategies & Solutions, LLC, a health policy and strategic advocacy consultancy that specializes in developing cohesive, multilateral strategies and cross-sector solutions. As a trained social worker, she utilizes theory and evidence-based practice methods to integrate client values into an ever-changing policy landscape.
Denys received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Social Work from Howard University. Uniquely positioned within her own 1,000 day window, she resides in Prince George’s County, Maryland with her husband and their infant son.
